From the BCM report, November 1969, p331: The eighth congress organized by the Glasgow Chess League at the end of September was the strongest, both in numbers and quality, so far. A record entry of 268 was received and if the numbers go on increasing then it may well prove necessary to move from the Langside Halls. The top tournament, the Invitation event, comprised twelve players, five non-Scottish and seven home players...
