[BCM, May 1976, p191] "The London - Belgrade match took place (at least the London end did ...) at the St James Hotel, Buckingham Gate, S.W.1, on Saturday 3rd April 1976. The event, the first match of this type to take place in this country for 30 years, was organised by the London Chess Congress Committee with financial assistance from the Slater Foundation. The organisation, by Peter Morrish, Edward Penn and Stewart Reuben, was of the usual high standard that we have come to expect from this group. However, even they were unable to legislate against the delays which built up in the Telex transmission of moves — this had the unfortunate consequence of leaving all 8 games unfinished at the end of some 6* hours' play, despite a fast time-limit of 30 moves per hour. It was feared that all the games would have to be sent to Dr Euwe for adjudication, but it proved possible to agree results on five of the boards." * Belgrade daily newspapers mentioned 7 hours' play.
